Autumn Inspired Apple Bread
Hands down, this is one of my favorite fall recipes to make. Not only is it simple for kids and even adult beginning bakers, it’s perfectly moist with a pinch of cinnamon and nutmeg. And of course, the smell does not disappoint when you reach into the warm oven to pull out your pan of scrumptiously risen apple bread.
Ingredients:
1 and 1/2 cup flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. lemon peal
1 cup shredded apples
1/4 cup veg. oil
1 egg
1 cup sugar
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease / spray a 9x9 pan or bread loaf pan.
Mix all the dry ingredients together in a bowl.
Mix all the wet ingredients together in a separate bowl.
Shred about 2 apples in a food processor to make 1 cup. Mix in with your wet ingredients.
Combine and mix all wet and dry ingredients together in one bowl.
Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.
Tip: Take it out of the oven a minute or two before the 30 minute mark as it finishes baking and then begins to cool.
Enjoy!
